A Journey of Discovery

You might call it the first marathon in the west, Lewis & Clark's Corps of Discovery Expedition in 1806. A significant portion of the journey was spent in Montana including a portion right here in Bozeman, a pleasant college town surrounded by the Gallatin National Forest and just 90 miles from Yellowstone National Park. Situated at 4,793 ft above sea level, Bozeman now invites you to the 9th Annual Lewis & Clark Marathon. It's your chance to follow in the footsteps of these heroic pioneers over a challenging marathon course of trails, paved and gravel roads complete with breathtaking views of four mountain ranges, fresh air and wide open spaces.

The 2009 events have been canceled and the race will be moving from a fall (September) to a Spring (late May TBD) in 2010.
